         Financing Affordable Housing in the United States: Policies and Practices

【内容简介】

        This talk will first provide an overview of the various housing programs that the United States has developed to finance the provision of affordable housing for low-income households. It will then discuss two types of affordable housing developments to illustrate the uses of these programs. The first is on the efforts to revitalize the country’s aging public housing stock; the second is on the provision of permanent supportive housing for households with special needs. The talk will conclude by summarizing the characteristics and challenges of affordable housing finance in the U.S.

【嘉宾介绍】

        邓岚，密歇根大学城市与区域规划系副教授，房地产开发硕士项目主任，同时也在Lieberthal-Rogel中国研究中心任职。邓教授研究和教学兴趣包括住宅、房地产和地方公共财政，尤其是检验和评估那些直接干预住房和房地产开发的各类行为，包括政府正式的住房政策以及基层基于社区的活动。她的研究包括中国和美国，是可支付住宅政策和金融领域研究的专家，在这些领域的顶级期刊上发表了大量研究。
